NYT 'Strands' Hints, Spangram, and Answers for Sunday, November 24th
Today's Strands puzzle was definitely a tough one! Here’s a bit of help to guide you through.
How to Play Strands
The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a twist on the classic word search, currently in beta. It will only stay around if enough people play daily, so be sure to give it a try!
Each day features a new game of Strands. You’ll see a 6x8 grid of letters, and the goal is to find a group of words with a common theme. A clue will be provided to guide you. When you find a theme word, it will stay highlighted in blue.
Additionally, there’s a special word called the "spangram," which links two opposite sides of the grid. The spangram may be a proper name, while the theme words are not. Once you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
Each letter is used exactly once in one of the theme words or the spangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally, or diagonally and change direction midway through a word. If you’re using a touchscreen, double-tap the last letter to submit your guess.
To unlock a hint, you need to find three valid words (at least four letters long) that aren’t part of the theme. Clicking the Hint button will highlight letters that form one of the theme words.
