Mohammed Siraj became the center of attention on Day 2 of the third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba, not for his bowling but for his quirky on-field antics. After being fined 20% of his match fee for a previous altercation with Travis Head, Siraj grabbed headlines with a comical yet strategic move involving Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne.

While bowling the 33rd over, Siraj, still in search of his first wicket of the match, approached the batter’s end and performed an unorthodox move by casually switching the bails on the stumps. Labuschagne initially thought Siraj was about to chat, but was amused to see the pacer switch the bails before returning to his mark.

Labuschagne, in turn, switched the bails back, triggering laughter from the crowd. The funny moment seemed to pay off for India, as Labuschagne was dismissed in the very next over, caught in the slips by Nitish Reddy.

This is not the first time Siraj has showcased his fiery on-field persona, frequently engaging in confrontations that mirror Australia's combative style. Earlier in the series, he was sanctioned by the ICC for a heated exchange with Head.

While Siraj’s antics sparked debate, with some praising his cleverness and others questioning the ethics of such moves, it undeniably added a lighthearted moment to the rain-hit day of play.

India had earlier gained an advantage in the morning session, thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant performance, claiming the wickets of Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney.

Siraj’s bail-switching act quickly went viral, adding to the excitement of the ongoing Test match.
