In the latest U.S. presidential election results, Republican candidate Donald Trump is on the verge of securing a victory, with his electoral votes nearing the majority mark. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Trump on this occasion, posting a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter).
"Heartiest congratulations to Donald Trump on winning this historic election. Building on the achievements of your previous tenure, let us work together to further strengthen the India-US strategic partnership. Together, let's strive for world peace, stability, and prosperity," Modi wrote.
The two leaders have previously shared photos together at various events, reflecting the strong ties between their countries.
Meanwhile, Trump has secured 267 electoral votes, just three shy of the 270 needed to claim victory. In his address to supporters, Trump celebrated the moment, saying, "The Republican campaign in this election is the biggest political movement in history. We’ve achieved success like America has never seen before. I want to thank the American people, and from now on, I will fight for you and your families every moment."
