Zoho Founder Sridhar Vembu revealed how he lost his chance to recruit Sriram Krishnan, who was recently appointed as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House of Science and Technology by upcoming US President Donald Trump.

Congratulating Sriram on his White House appointment, Sridhar on X said, "Congratulations Sriram! Back in 2004, when Sriram was graduating from SRM University, I came across his blog—one of the early programming blogs from India at that time. I was so impressed I wanted to recruit him but Microsoft already had recruited him. We have been in touch on and off as he later moved to Silicon Valley and became an entrepreneur.

"President Trump has found a great talent for his technology team," he added.

About Krishan Sriram

Krishan, who will collaborate closely with crypto and AI 'czar' David Sacks, has vast expertise from his roles at big tech giants such as Microsoft, Twitter, and Meta, among others. He began his career with Microsoft in 2005 as a founding member of the company's cloud product Azure. In fact, until November he worked as a general partner in Andreessen Horowitz's London office.

In fact, Krishnan has a close relationship with Elon Musk, with whom he tied up to revamp X after the latter took over the company in 2022.

Krishan reaction to his appointment

Confirming his acceptance of the role, Krishan wrote on X, "I'm honoured to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI, working closely with @DavidSacks."

"Thank you @realDonaldTrump for this opportunity," he added.
