Insiders have told CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins that Musk has been heavily involved in discussions and decisions, even weighing in on staffing preferences. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who supported Trump during the presidential campaign, has become a notable figure at Mar-a-Lago post-election. Musk has been seen frequently with Trump, including a recent golf outing that was shared on social media by Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump.

Kara Swisher, a renowned tech journalist, discussed Musk's influence on a CNN program, noting that his constant involvement has left many Trump insiders perplexed. She described Musk as someone who "inserts himself all the time," likening him to a "guest that wouldn't leave."
