The crescent moon has been sighted in multiple locations across India, including Delhi, Lucknow, and Srinagar, marking the conclusion of Ramadan 2025. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated nationwide on Monday, March 31.

Moon Sighting Confirmed in Multiple CitiesOn Sunday, March 30, the moon was officially sighted in various parts of India, including Lucknow and Srinagar. The Imam of Lucknow Eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, confirmed the sighting, stating, "The moon has been sighted today, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31."

Similarly, Delhi's Jama Masjid announced the moon sighting, and Imarat-e-Shariyah-Hind also verified that the crescent was visible at multiple locations across the country.

Eid Celebrations WorldwideSaudi Arabia, which follows an earlier moon sighting schedule, began its Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations on Sunday, March 30. Other nations, including Pakistan and Afghanistan, are expected to observe Eid on March 31, aligning with India.

In Australia, the moon was not visible on March 30, meaning Eid celebrations will take place there on April 1.

Islamic Lunar Calendar & Eid DeterminationEid-ul-Fitr is celebrated after the completion of Ramadan, determined by the sighting of the crescent moon. According to the Islamic lunar calendar, if the moon is not visible, Eid is traditionally observed the following day.

With confirmation from religious authorities in India, Muslims across the country will come together to mark the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on March 31, celebrating with prayers, feasts, and gatherings with family and friends.
