Donald Trump inauguration LIVE: Donald Trump, a Republican, will be back at the White House after being sworn in as US President on Jan. 20. He will swear an oath inside because of dangerously low temperatures on Monday.

Posting the update on social media website Truth Social, Donald Trump declared he did not want people injured by an ‘Arctic blast tearing across the Country’.

"For this reason, I have directed that the Inauguration Address, prayers and other speeches be held in the United States Capitol Rotunda," Trump wrote in his tweet.

Donald Trump inaugurations — LIVE: Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, etc, are reported to be present for the 20 January inauguration ceremony.

Donald Trump inauguration TONIGHT: According to the National Weather Service, the temperature will be at around 22 degrees Fahrenheit (minus-6 Celsius) at noon Eastern time.

This is the coldest day on the occasion since Reagan’s second inauguration in which the temperature dropped to 7 degrees (minus-14 Celsius).

The Rotunda has been selected as the second venue for Donald Trump’s swearing-in. It wasn’t indoors again until 1985 when President Ronald Reagan was entering his second term.

Trump is slated to officially be seated at the White House following his second inauguration as the 48th president of the United States on January 20.

Donald Trump's inauguration is moved indoors because of the extreme cold.

Officials fear the low temperatures will pose a health hazard to attendees and visitors — Trump himself said so Friday.

"I don’t want people broken, mangled. It is dangerous territory for the tens of thousands of Police, First Responders, Police K9s and horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters who will be outdoors for hours on the 20th (In any case, if you come, wear warm clothing! ),” Trump posted.

The last president who was sworn in the house was Reagan in 1985, when daytime temperatures fell to 7 degrees, and the wind chill was -25. Reagan took his oath in the Capitol Rotunda. His inaugural parade was cancelled.
