6.1 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Nepal, Tremors Felt In India

An earthquake of 6.1 magnitude hit around Bhairab Kunda of the Sindhupalchok district in Nepal early Friday morning, with strong tremors felt in Siliguri, Bihar, and other Indian cities.
The German Research Center for Geosciences placed the magnitude of the earthquake at 5.6 and the depth at 10 km (6.21 miles), while the US Geological Survey pegged it at magnitude 5.5. However, it was not clear whether multiple quakes had occurred.
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake is termed a series. However, the full scale of Friday's seismic activity is unknown, and luckily, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
Regardless of the precise identification, the event serves as a sharp reminder of Nepal's vulnerability to earthquakes and the continued need for preparedness and disaster resilience.
Alongside Nepal, another earthquake was recorded with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter Scale and the epicenter was Pakistan. The second earthquake that hit Pakistan took place at around 05.14 AM today.
