Waltair Division gets RS 443-cr upgrade
12 Stations to be redeveloped under Amrit Bharat scheme

Visakhapatnam: The Centre will redevelop 12 railway stations under the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) at a cost of Rs 443.47 crore and road overbridges to decongest traffic with an outlay of Rs 218.13 crores.
Division Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad told the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of 12 stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and construct four road overbridges over Waltair Division on Monday in a virtual mode. The 12 stations will get new station buildings, world-class amenities, 12 meter wide foot overbridges and second entry to the station.
In Andhra Pradesh portion of Waltair Division, the stations to be redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Scheme include Simhachalam, Araku, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Kothavalasa, Chipurupalle, Srikakulam Road and Naupada. In Odisha region Paralakhemundi, Jeypore, Rayagada and Koraput stations, which are presently under the Waltair Division, will be redeveloped as Amrit Bharat Scheme.
