Hyderabad: The Voice of Fashion, the daily digital magazine on fashion, culture, and design, hosted a craft walkthrough event at the newly opened store Swadesh in Hyderabad. Swadesh is a testament to the rich heritage of Indian artisans and their timeless creations. All products are directly sourced from artisan communities, completely handcrafted. Swadesh’s new luxurious 20,000 sqft store is a meticulously curated collection that is a mosaic of colours, textures, and stories, with each piece reflecting the soul of its creator. From elegant home linen to exquisite jewellery, an extensive home décor collection, wellness products, and much more, every item in the store resonates with the craftsmanship and culture of India.
This store offered a stimulating environment for an evening of crafts and conversation. Shefalee Vasudev, editor-in-chief of The Voice of Fashion, an author and journalist who has been reporting on crafts and Indian textiles for many years, led this walkthrough. Besides a culturally engaged audience from Hyderabad, including fashion designer Anand Kabra, senior artiste Vidya Rao, and several other members of the city’s society, arts and cultural circles, the evening at Swadesh saw distinguished guests from other parts of India. Well-known painter Paresh Maity, fashion and textile designers NachiketBarve, AshdeenLilaowala, and Peter D’Ascoli, jewellery designer Niharika Shekhawat, and Asaf Ali, co-founder of Kashmir Loom, as well as Rasika Wakalkar of Pune’s TVAM Foundation joined this August gathering.
