Reliance 5G Jio download speeds at whooping 258 Mbps! Gamers paradise

India's online gamers have a reason to rejoice—5G speeds are blazing fast, and the competition between telcos is heating up.

According to a recent report by Ookla, Reliance Jio has emerged as the undisputed leader in 5G download speed, clocking an impressive average of 258.54 Mbps between July and December 2024. This makes it the fastest mobile network in India for downloads. Airtel secured the second spot with 205.1 Mbps, while Vodafone Idea trailed behind with just 21.6 Mbps.

But when it comes to online gaming and video streaming, Airtel edges ahead. It recorded the highest 5G gaming score at 80.17, just ahead of Jio’s 76.58, offering gamers smoother, more responsive play. Airtel also led in video streaming experience, scoring 65.73, thanks to its optimized network for high-definition content consumption.

Meanwhile, Jio continued to dominate in terms of network reach and availability. With 73.7% of Jio users connected to its 5G network most of the time, the telco had the widest 5G availability across India. It also ranked number one in overall mobile coverage with a score of 65.66, followed by Airtel at 58.17.

In summary, Jio leads in raw 5G speed and network reach, making it a strong choice for download-heavy activities like game updates and streaming. On the other hand, Airtel shines in real-time gaming and video performance, appealing to users focused on low-lag gaming and seamless content playback.
