Airtel partners with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s high-speed internet to India

Airtel has entered into a partnership with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s high-speed internet services to India, marking the first such agreement in the country. However, the deal is contingent on SpaceX obtaining the necessary authorizations to sell Starlink in India. The collaboration will allow Airtel and SpaceX to explore how Starlink can enhance Airtel’s services and leverage Airtel’s deep market knowledge alongside SpaceX’s direct consumer and business offerings.

As part of the partnership, Airtel and SpaceX plan to offer Starlink equipment through Airtel’s retail stores, provide Starlink services to business customers, and expand connectivity to rural areas, including schools and health centers. They will also look into ways Starlink can improve Airtel’s network and how SpaceX can benefit from Airtel’s extensive ground infrastructure across India.

The integration of Starlink, alongside Airtel’s existing partnership with Eutelsat OneWeb, will significantly expand Airtel’s ability to deliver nationwide connectivity, especially to underserved regions. The Starlink enterprise suite will enable Airtel to provide businesses and communities with reliable and seamless internet solutions.
