Hyderabad: In a bid to position Telangana as a global investment hub, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy embarked on his inaugural visit to the 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos. Unveiling a strategic vision for attracting investments, he outlined key sectors such as education, IT, pharmaceuticals, sports, and employment as focal points for the state's economic development.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the international business community, expressed a particular focus on the approximately 30 lakh young tech enthusiasts in Telangana. Emphasizing a commitment to organic farming, he unveiled ambitious plans to establish pharmaceutical villages in 10-12 clusters across the state, coupled with a concerted effort to develop top-tier universities in the vicinity of Hyderabad.

A notable departure from regional competition, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared, "We are inviting investors from worldwide to the state. We want to compete with the world, not with Karnataka, Maharashtra, or Andhra Pradesh. For me, the world is one village." This global perspective underscores Telangana's ambition to transcend local rivalries and position itself as a formidable player on the international economic stage.

Stability in governance emerged as a crucial factor in attracting investments, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighting the divergent nature of his policies compared to the preceding administration led by K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). He stressed the need for continuity in development policies, citing the longstanding progress in the IT and pharmaceutical sectors since 1993.

Confidence resonated in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's prediction of the Congress securing "14 to 17 Lok Sabha seats" in Telangana, with a clear assertion that the primary electoral contest would be against the BRS, not the BJP, notwithstanding the state's total of 17 parliamentary seats.

Looking ahead to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy drew parallels with historical elections, invoking the unexpected outcome in 2004 when BJP's Atal Bihari Vajpayee faced defeat.
