Summit on improving ease of doing business in Andhra Pradesh

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (EDB), and Sri City jointly organised a digital conference exclusively with Sri City based Japanese companies on Tuesday on the theme of improving ease of doing business in Andhra Pradesh. The objective of the meeting was to ensure a smooth entry, continued operations and expansion of Japanese companies.

Welcoming the participants Sumita Dawra, Additional Secretary, DPIIT explained the intent of convening the conference. JVN Subramanyam, Director of Industries, Govt. of AP requested the Sri City based companies and all other participants to share their views by highlighting the specific issues for improving the ease of doing business in the state. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder, MD, Sri City said, "Sri City is one of the 13 Japanese industrial townships being developed by governments of India and Japan, and with the presence of over 25 Japanese industries in different manufacturing sectors, emerges as the second largest Japanese cluster in the country." He suggested to offer special incentives so as to attract more Japanese companies, particularly those proposing to move out from China.

Representatives of Toray, Isuzu, Daiki, Kikuwa, THK and IMOP gave presentation on their companies and highlighted positive experience in state, and their future plans of investments over the next five years. They drew the attention of the government officials to the specific issues pertaining to refund of pending incentives and incentives for additional investments.
