By fostering mentorship, strategic collaborations, and capital access, the firm is enabling Indian entrepreneurs to scale faster and smarter. As India’s startup landscape evolves, cross-border initiatives like these will be pivotal in shaping the next generation of global market leaders

Expert DOJO, a Southern California-based early-stage venture capital firm, has been actively investing in Indian startups since 2019 through its US fund. Over the years, the firm has backed more than 30 Indian startups, strengthening their access to global capital, mentorship, and market expansion.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Joshua Salins, Founder, The Hobby Tribe said, “Expert Dojo has been a true catalyst in our growth journey at Hobby Tribe. As a founder, having the right guidance and network is just as important as having a great idea, and that’s exactly what they provide.”

They don’t just invest; they roll up their sleeves and work alongside founders, helping us refine our strategies, optimize monetization, and scale efficiently.

What’s been even more impactful is how they bridge the gap between India and the US, opening doors that would have otherwise taken years to unlock. Through their network, we’ve gained access to global investors, strategic partners, and a market that perfectly aligns with our vision. This kind of cross-border collaboration is game-changing, and it’s helped us accelerate our growth in ways we never imagined, he said.

Madhav Kasturia, Founder, Zippee added, “Scaling a quick commerce and hyperlocal logistics startup is no easy task it’s a constant balancing act between speed, cost efficiency, and customer experience. What’s exciting is how the Indo-US bridge is making it easier for founders to learn from global markets, access the right investors, and build meaningful partnerships that fuel growth.”

Programs like Expert Dojo have been a huge support system, offering hands-on mentorship and real-world strategies that actually work. As India’s startup ecosystem keeps evolving, these cross-border opportunities are helping founders scale smarter and faster.

Expert DOJO has invested in nearly 300 companies worldwide, providing early-stage funding between $50,000 and $1,00,000, with follow-on investments of up to $1 million. In India, the firm has backed startups including Bhive, Cloudworx, Consuma, Mugafi, The Rollnumber, Fudr, Doqfy, etc. focusing on businesses looking to expand beyond domestic markets.

The firm’s investments in India span diverse high-growth sectors, including consumer tech, artificial intelligence (AI), edtech, fintech, and health tech. By backing startups in these sectors, the firm has fuelled innovation and addressed critical challenges and opportunities in the Indian market. While the focus remains on these sectors, there is immense potential to explore untapped areas where Indian startups can leverage global expertise and networks to create impactful solutions.

Brian Mac Mahon, Managing Partner at Expert DOJO, shared, “Since 2019, we’ve backed over 30 Indian startups as part of our close to 300-company portfolio, doubling down on our commitment to the region. Our focus is on building a powerful Indo-US investment corridor, connecting Indian entrepreneurs with the right funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships to scale internationally. We’re not just investors we’re growth partners, ensuring Indian startups have the tools and support to thrive on a global stage”.
