A startup by itself it is of startups, for startups and by startups. Welcome to the one of its kind First General Entrepreneurs Club (FGEC), which aspires to strengthen the startup ecosystem by way of mentoring budding entrepreneurs, especially first-generation entrepreneurs with first-hand knowledge and first-hand experience from proven people, who have been there and done that. Co-founded by four startup owners- Sandip Joardar of Cha-Khor; Manas Protim Mondal, the CEO of RIKI Traders International Pvt. Ltd; Sourav Joarder, co-founder of Cha-Khor India Ventures Pvt. Ltd. and Arijit Hajra, CEO of Think Again Lab, also known as the Robot Man of India. FGEC aims at empower first-generation entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and network necessary to succeed. The club has already onboard over 150 first-generation entrepreneurs from across different verticals. This type of handholding by entrepreneurs, who have learnt it the hard way, is something that was missing in Kolkata’s entrepreneurship or startup ecosystem. Many rightly opine that it would go a long way in incubating and promoting entrepreneur wannabes, to a considerable extent.

It is pertinent to note that these are the people who are passionate about empowering and supporting first-generation entrepreneurs on the success ladder. The club founders understand the particular challenges faced by first time entrepreneurs, and, more importantly, they are dedicated to offering personalised guidance, comprehensive resources and a vibrant network of like-minded individuals. FGEC promises to give one moral support and confidence that they are not alone in their entrepreneurial journey. What does FGEC do? It promises to create a supportive environment where aspiring business owners can thrive, innovate and achieve their goals. Through tailored mentorship, educational programmes and valuable resources, it will strive to make entrepreneurial success accessible to everyone. The services that this fledgling organisation promises to offer include financial resources, legal and compliance resources, product development and technology resources, sales and marketing resources, customer and community engagement services and startup learning resources.

In short everything that a new entrant ought to know and understand about surviving the competition. To make for a practical package, they also promote trade fair and shows, and offer operational and administrative resources, investor and funding resources, marketing and branding resources, human resources and talent acquisition and networking and mentorship resources. FGEC aspires to be the leading support network for first-generation entrepreneurs, recognized for their commitment to fostering innovation, growth, and collaboration. It envisions a future where first-time entrepreneurs are equipped with the confidence and resources to transform their ideas into successful businesses, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. By championing the needs of first-generation entrepreneurs, it actually aims to inspire a new generation of successful business leaders. Moreover, first-generation entrepreneurship is not just about building a business; it’s about breaking barriers, challenging the status quo and creating opportunities, where none existed before. Undoubtedly, Bengal has pioneered an ecosystem that is bound to inspire many likeminded entrepreneurs from across India to join hands and come up with similar support bases.
