SBI assigning tasks to promoted officials

Mumbai After having re-jigged its senior leadership positions, the country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has started giving the new assignments to them, post elevation. Early this month, the bank had re-jigged its senior leadership positions with at least four key executives getting new roles.

Rajay Sinha, chief general manager in charge of global markets, has been appointed as managing director and chief executive at the brokerage arm SBI Capital Markets. Sinha replaces Amitava Chatterjee, who’ll now return to the bank to oversee its vertical catering to corporate clients. Chatterjee is now the deputy managing director in his new role. Nand Kishore has already taken over as the deputy managing director of global markets division in Mumbai last week, while Abhijit Chakravorty has been elevated as the managing director and CEO at SBI Cards, according to the people. Other newly promoted deputy managing directors at the bank who are waiting for getting new roles include Deepak Kumar Lalla, Amit Jhingran, Surendar Rana, Baldev Prakash, Binod Kumar Mishra and Jayati Bansal, sources familiar with the development told Bizz Buzz. Baldev Prakash is currently on deputation to J&K Bank as its MD & CEO.

There are promotions to the post of chief general managers too. They include Kamal Deep Prasad, Veeraraghavan Srinivasan, Amritesh Mohan, Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Purvang Navinchandra Shah, Sandeep Bhatnagar, Abhay Kishore Pandey, Rajesh Kumar, Arun Kumar Yadav, Krishan Sharma, Prakash Chand Saboo, Shesh Ram Verma, Sameer Kumar Sawhney. Parminder Singh and Rajeev Kumar. Besides, there are four lady officials at the bank who have been promoted to the post of CGM. They include Salila Pande, Sukhvinder Kaur Ganesh, Bhuvaneshwari A and Suranjana Dutta. Bhuvaneshwari A has been posted as CGM, Thiruvananthapuram Circle.

Rajesh Kumar has been posted as CGM, Hyderabad Circle. Kshitij Mohan has been posted as CGM, Ahmedabad Circle. Krishan Sharma has been posted as CGM, Bengaluru Circle. Rajeev Kumar has been posted as CGM (HR) at Corporate Centre. Sandeep Bhatnagar has been posted as CGM, SARG. In the meantime, Swaminathan J, MD of SBI, has been posted as Deputy Governor at RBI and hence one position of MD has fallen vacant in SBI. Nine DMDs are in the race for the MD post, for which the process has kickstarted of late. The candidates aspiring for the MD’s post include Vinay Tonse, Saloni Narayan, Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Kishore Kumar P, Amara Ram Mohan Rao, Ruma Dey, Amitava Chatterjee, Deepak Kumar Lalla and Shamsher Singh Mann.

The serving chairman of the bank, Dinesh Khara will be completing his term in October. However, the headhunting for the person who is likely to replace him, was yet to begin, sources said.
