Hyderabad: Pandemic has accelerated work from anywhere option to employees which left high expectations on IT team, as they are burdened to be fore front in connecting various devices to corporate networks, data and services. Due to this stress the need to shift to implementation of automated IT services is on rise.
Ivanti, an automation platform, has released a new study stating the reasons of respondents where the majority (55 per cent) of respondents reported automating IT processes saving the IT department one-eight hours per service request. For organizations, which have over 50 per cent of their IT services automated the time saved per service request jumped to more than 16 hours.
The other key findings are 32 per cent of them think keeping up with digital transformation and 26 per cent of them find keeping talent in technical roles are the two biggest challenges their organizations face today.
61 per cent of respondents feel IT departments are viewed as critical to an organization's growth and business strategy. 72 per cent of respondents reported losing team members with 41 per cent of respondents citing a high workload as the top reason for losing team members.
Unrealistic expectations placed on the team (34 per cent), lack of executive support (32 per cent), remote work was not a possibility 28 per cent.
Executive hesitancy to adopt automation (26 per cent) and lack of critical technology to effectively do their job (24 per cent)

The only way to alleviate some of these stresses, and retain technical talent, is to implement automation into IT services so that team members can focus their attention on activities that drive the business forward and contribute to the business strategy." said Nayaki Nayyar, President and Chief Product Officer, Ivanti.
Interestingly there was a disconnect between C-Suite/Vice President and Managers/Directors as demonstrated by the finding that Managers and Directors were more likely to report that the IT department was viewed as only a cost center (27 per cent) versus only 19 per cent of C-Suite/Vice President respondents who only viewed IT as a cost center.
