Visakhapatnam Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) has conducted a meeting with railway freight customers and stakeholders to discuss various modalities to improve the traffic.

Revenue generated from non-conventional sources came up for discussion. Divisional Railway Manager Anup Satpathy chaired the meeting. ADRM Sudhir Kumar Gupta, branch officers from operations and commercial attended the meeting.

The meeting was held for exploring the potential areas for revenue generation, assistance required from both ends and mutual coordination for a better healthy environment to improve the freight traffic.

In this connection, as part of vigilance awareness week, various policies and initiatives were discussed elaborately and a presentation was given for enhancing the business strategy. The meeting was convened to emphasise on railways vision, mission, strategy, values and behaviour.

Satpathy effective decision making, mutual trust, cost savings measures, risk management, transparency and accountability are the key issues to be focused on to accomplish set targets.

The stakeholders from esteemed business entrepreneurs like National Mineral Development Corporation, Vizag Steel plant, Gangavaram port, Vizag Seaport Private Ltd, Vedanta, Food Corporation of India, National Alumina Company, Utkal Alumina and Visakha Container Terminal Private Ltd participated.
