PRI, Govt of Maharashtra to establish distillery at Nagpur

Mumbai: The Government of Maharashtra and Pernod Ricard India (PRI), a global leader in wine and spirits industry, on Friday signed a MoU to establish one of the biggest malt spirit distilleries in India, in the industrial suburb of Butibori in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’, Pernod Ricard India plans an investment up to €200 mn in the decade.
The MoU signing was graced by Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis; Minister of Industries, Uday Samant; Maharashtra Excise Minister, Shambhuraj Desai; Principal Secretary (Industries and Mining) Dr. HarshdeepKamble, Jean Touboul, CEO, PRI; Prasanna Mohile, National Corporate Affairs Head, PRI and Gagandeep Sethi, Senior VP, Integrated Operations, PRI. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMof Maharashtra, said “We believe that infrastructural growth is the first step towards amplifying advancement for any state & we are delighted that PRI shares our vision to invest in economic and skill development of the country.”
