Mumbai: Guess how is Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrating his birthday this year, which falls on September 17? He will be celebrating his birthday in Kuno National Park in Sheopur district of Madhya Padesh by releasing more than five cheetahs, which have been brought from South Africa. It has not only been confirmed by the MP Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, but also is evident from the CM's frequent visits to the place in the recent past.

It is learnt that the PM is also likely to interact with women self-help groups (SHGs) on the day.

Yet another attraction of the PM's birthday event will be the e-auction of gifts and souvenirs presented to him which will commence from September 17. The process concludes on October 2.

The auction process will be done through the Government of India's website (pmmementos.gov.in). As many as 1,200 gifts and mementos given to the Prime Minister will be auctioned. Among these 1,200 gifts, the centre of attraction is the statue of Rani Kamalapati, presented by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh government. The Amrit Kalash containing the scared or well tilled soil of Ayodhya is another attraction.

According to the information available, personalities belonging to Madhya Pradesh have been urged by the Chief Minister and the senior officials to participate in the e-auction process and get the gifts so that gifts and souvenirs remain in Madhya Pradesh. This will keep citizens emotionally attached to these events and will serve as heritage for the new generation.

A good number of MPs and MLAs representing tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh and institutions working for these sections are considering at participating in the e-auction process because Rani Kamalapati is their inspiration.

The Prime Minister will dedicate the money received from the sale of gifts and souvenirs to a public cause. He had earlier auctioned 1,800 gifts and the proceeds were donated to the Namami Gange project aimed at cleaning Ganga river.

Taking inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had earlier sold the gifts and souvenirs following the same process. He had spent the money thus collected on the welfare of the poor and treatment of children.
