P&G Health reports Rs 177 cr net profit
Procter & Gamble Health Ltd (PGHL) reported a net profit of Rs 176.8 crore during January 2020 to June 2021 against Rs 254.08 crore in the previous 18-month period. The company recorded Rs 990.8 crore for the twelve-month period ending June 2021.

Hyderabad Procter & Gamble Health Ltd (PGHL) reported a net profit of Rs 176.8 crore during January 2020 to June 2021 against Rs 254.08 crore in the previous 18-month period. The company recorded Rs 990.8 crore for the twelve-month period ending June 2021. Due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, the results for the fiscal are not comparable with sales of Rs 1,329 crore during the 18-month period last year.
Milind Thatte, Managing Director of PGHL said, "Given the uncertainty still presented by the pandemic, we continue to work towards protecting the health and safety of our employees and partners, ensuring uninterrupted supplies of our vitamins, minerals, supplements and medicinal products for our patients and consumers, and on supporting communities and relief efforts."
He adds, "As part of the 'P&G Suraksha India' Covid-19 relief programme, we contributed to the donation of 10 lakh vaccine doses for 5 lakh citizens in partnership with State governments and local authorities. We continue to invest in strengthening public health in India through our flagship CSR programme 'Sehat' (meaning Health)."
Under SEHAT, the company recently announced three-year collaboration with Tata Trusts for 'Yes to Poshan', a new initiative which aims to advance the nutritional status of women and children at grassroots. The Board of Directors have recommended a final dividend of Rs 130 per equity share, which includes a one-time special dividend of Rs 90 per equity share, for the fiscal ended June 2021.
Milind further informed, "The year saw increasing awareness on preventive healthcare and the benefits of supplementation amongst consumers and healthcare professionals reflecting in a strong performance with sales of Rs 281.1 crore in the last quarter and Rs 990.8 crore during the year ended June 2021 amid challenging circumstances."
