Mumbai: Packaging Industry leaders have emphasised innovation and sustainability.

Earlier, addressing PHDCCI’s Conference on Advances in Packaging, he highlighted the transformative potential of the packaging industry. He stressed that collaboration between policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators is crucial to drive innovation and sustainability.
As India accelerates towards becoming one of the fastest-growing economies, the packaging sector must evolve in tandem.

Prof (Dr) Tanweer Alam, Additional Director & RO, IIP, Delhi, emphasised the importance of packaging in government initiatives such as food parks. He called for stronger policy support to ensure packaging plays a critical role in food safety and sustainability.
Amit Shah, Joint President, UFlex, discussed key policies promoting the packaging industry, highlighting its dynamic nature and the importance of sustainability. He stressed that India has the potential to become a global leader in packaging solutions with the right policy support, investments in recycling infrastructure, and the extension of PLI (Production Linked Incentive) benefits.
