Hyderabad: Now, people can buy gold or diamond jewellery at a cost as low as Rs 50. Goldsikka Gullak is an online gold savings plan, which allows its customers to buy BIS Hallmark-certified 22-karat jewellery and precious stones online. They can pay monthly small amounts of money over a period of time, and the jewellery will be delivered to their homes from 2 grams onwards.
Hyderabad-based Goldsikka Ltd, which has recently announced the launch of India's first gold ATM, introduced this plan to attract the buyers, who love the yellow metal in the jewellery form. It has started a jewellery manufacturing unit in Himayathnagar. During this festive and wedding season, the company has come up with 'no making charges'.
"After saving enough money under Goldsikka Gullak savings plan on our digital platform, the customers are provided with an option to convert the saved amount to physical gold jewellery and take home delivery without any value addition. They can purchase even diamond jewellery based on their overall savings," said S Taruj, CEO of Goldsikka Ltd.
"The company has more than 30 artisans and designers working at the local factory. We are making gold jewellery items of 45-50 kg per month here, while we are selling 300-400 gm gold coins/ bars per day on our digital platform. We are also planning to set up one more jewellery manufacturing unit in the city," he informed.
Asked about arrival of the first gold ATM in the country, Goldsikka Director Ambika Burman said: "The prototype will be ready in a couple of weeks. The first gold ATM will be coming up at Begumpet. The buyers can use all credit and debit cards to buy physical gold instantly through these gold ATMs."
The MMTC-PAMP's authorised retailer has entered into an agreement with Chennai-based Trunix Dataware LLP and KL Hi-Tech Secure Print Ltd to launch these gold ATMs. The machine can dispense 0.5 gram to 100 gram gold with quality, BIS certification and hallmarks. This will be available at real time live market price, she added.
