'Mfg units shall follow Covid norms'

Hyderabad Every manufacturing industry in the State is permitted to operate in the ten-day lockdown period, but they should follow all the protocols and norms announced in GO No.8 issued by the Industries Department, said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT and Industries and Commerce, Telangana.

Speaking at the virtual interaction on "Understanding Covid lockdown guidelines for the industries" organised by industry body FTCCI, he gave clarification about the industries operation in this ten-day lockdown. He also said if any extension is decided by the State government, the government will add the requests made by the industry body depending on the situation. "People should not move unnecessarily, and companies need to rationalize the movement of employees in such way that only those stay near the unit," he added. "We have also setup a control room to solve the complications by the Police but should come with specific problems only."
