Visakhapatnam Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Andhra Pradesh organised its 34th edition of AP State level quality circle competition for the year 2021 through digital platform in which Mangal Industries Limited (Vivekananda-01 QC team) won the top honours.
Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (Badlav QC team) secured the second prize and Amara Raja Electronics Limited (Power zone QC team) won third place among 13 teams who took part in the State level quality circle competition. CII has been continually advocating the need for increased attention to quality and productivity by industry.
CII has been spreading the message of promoting quality and creating the need for Total Quality Management. The quality circles are vital TQM tools. They play a very important role in involving a wide cross-section of employees in an organisation for improving quality through participation and motivating workers to exchange ideas, views and share experiences on quality circles and various approaches to problem-solving.
The State level competition is part of CII's continuous thrust towards strengthening the quality movement in India. The three winners of the State level competition will now compete at the southern regional level competition. Regional winners finally compete at the CII National QC Circle Convention.
A.V. Seshagiri Rao, PSS Hanumantha Rao from faculty, QCFI, Hyderabad Chapter and C.B. Hema Malini, retired employees of BEL-Hyderabad acted as judges for the competition.
P.L. Bheemesh, co-convenor, CII AP Manufacturing & Industry 4.0 Panel and Managing Director, Genius Filters & Systems Pvt Ltd inaugurated the competition and announced the winners at the valedictory session.
