IGBC Green Property Show 2024 concludes in Hyd

At the event, 5,000 kg of waste was diverted from reaching landfills, with the support of RE Sustainability

The second edition of Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Green Property Show 2024 has concluded in Hyderabad. The three-day event witnessed participation of developers, financial institutions, and prospective homebuyers.

Over 70 developers showcased IGBC certified green residential projects, sustainable products, and technologies. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana as the Chief Guest, and Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Minister for Roads, as the Guest of Honour, were present at the valedictory ceremony.

Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, said: “The IGBC Green Property Show 2024 has been a success, demonstrating the growing commitment of our State towards sustainable development and eco-friendly living. It is heartening to witness the active participation of developers, and homebuyers.” Commending the efforts of CII-IGBC, Komati Reddy said, “IGBC and all the participants are promoting sustainable solutions that not only benefit our environment but also contribute to long-term cost savings and improved quality of life for residents.”

The valedictory session started with programs including Green Residential Society Challenge by Amruta, Associate Counsellor CII – IGBC; Awareness on Cyber Security and anti-narcotics by Lalith Sharma, Cyber Team Lead; Waste Management in Office and Homes by Bobby Kurien, Re- Sustainability Ltd; Enhancing Urban Biodiversity by Farida Tampal, State Director WWF- India, Hyderabad; Road safety for citizens by an expert from Traffic Training Institute.

In his inaugural speech, C Shekar Reddy, National Vice Chairman, IGBC, termed the exhibition as a catalyst in promoting eco-friendly living, and raising awareness about the benefits of green homes.

M Anand, Deputy Executive Director, IGBC informed that the event diverted 5,000 kg of waste from reaching landfills, making it a Net Zero event, with the support of RE Sustainability.

During the event, V Rajashekar Reddy, president,Credai Hyderabad declared that the developers’ body has collaborated with IGBC, to create green jobs, and build over 1,000 certified green projects over the next two years, targeting 4,000 green projects by 2030, through adoption of IGBC Green and Net Zero building ratings.
