The performance of the real estate sector in 2024 hints at a transformation not in scale but in the quality of offerings and showcases the need for continued investor interest in the growing real estate market in India -- Ramani Sastri, Chairman & MD, Sterling Developers

Mumbai: Equity investments in India's Real Estate sector are expected to surpass $10 Billion in 2024 as per recent reports by CBRE-CII.

The rise in equity investments in the real estate sector is indicative of the rapid growth of India's housing real estate sector. For real estate developers, it's a golden opportunity to innovate and expand in line with the aspirations of an ever-changing consumer base. Today, with the rise in disposable incomes and with high demand for quality living spaces, consumers are seeking premium homes that could project their aspirations and opt for larger spaces with superior amenities.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Ramani Sastri, Chairman & MD, Sterling Developers, says, “The performance of the sector in 2024 hints at a transformation not in scale but in the quality of offerings and showcases the need for continued investor interest in the growing real estate market in India.”

Thus determining India's residential real estate market as a potent driver of economic growth and a representation of rising consumer aspirations, he said. India's commercial property market is witnessing a robust phase of growth, highlighting a pivotal shift in workplace demands and organisational strategies. Global Capability Centres and large corporations, in particular, are leveraging coworking workspaces as a space for innovation and expanding their operational capabilities.

Manas Mehrotra, Founder, 315Work Avenue says, “A further boost is given by hybrid work models, which encourage companies to seek flexible, tech-enabled co-working spaces that will accommodate both collaboration and efficiency.”

Sustainability and technology integration are becoming crucial factors, with organisations favoring green-certified buildings, he added.

As commercial real estate continues its upward march, it is a transformation of this nature that emphasises the sector's pivotal role in driving economic growth and meeting the evolving aspirations of businesses, driving continued investor interest in the growing real estate market in India.
