Visakhapatnam: Growing demand and inadequate supply and migration of workforce due to rapid industrialisation have led to rising demand for plots and residential houses in Visakhapatnam.

Credai Property Expo, being held in Visakhapatnam on December 23, 24 and 25 amid the Buzz of a boom in the realty sector in all segments including the affordable housing as well as middle income group-friendly apartments and high-end ventures has evoked tremendous enthusiasm among the prospective home and plot-buyers in and around the city and various parts of North Andhra.

A recent conclave held by CII in association with JLL felt that over the years, the real estate market in Visakhapatnam has seen a transformation on all fronts including housing, infrastructure, offices and retail real estate. "With State Government initiatives and the announcement greenfield GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport at Bhogapuram is expected to significantly improve connectivity, serve the needs of tourism, logistics industry and all types of real estate development–residential, commercial, retail, tourism, hospitality and industrial growth in Visakhapatnam region and North Andhra," the conclave concluded after threadbare discussion.

Property Expo of Credai Visakhapatnam-an annual show is a big hit among the locals for several years. The number of footfall and bookings during each edition of expo is increasing after the lockdown and hype over shifting of capital to Visakhapatnam and the launching of big-ticket projects to propel speedy development in the region.

"This is the eighth edition of the Property Show and we have made elaborate arrangements at the Gadiraju Palace on the beach road, the venue for the event, to provide a good opportunity to the prospective buyers. Plots, flats, villas and luxury apartments will be available for choosing. Along with this, interior designers will also offer various options to make the property to be bought by the interested people look elegant and affordable to various segments," Credai Visakhapatnam Chapter Chairman KSRK Raju (Sai), told Bizz Buzz.

He said that over 100 reputed developers are participating in the expo and umpteen number of projects will be on display and potential buyers could choose a unit of their choice and make a booking. As Visakhapatnam is the 9th richest city in India and contributes a big share to the national GDP, any investment in real estate is certain to fetch a rich dividend. The bankers, based on the income and tax returns of the prospective buyers will explain about loan options with easy EMI options. SBI and other banks are putting up stalls at the expo.

CREDAI Visakhapatnam Chapter President Dharmender Varada said even before RERA was introduced, those having membership to CREDAI had been strictly adhering to a code of conduct to maintain healthy standards in taking up various ventures. "What we had adopted are now being implemented after RERA came into existence," he said.

.Honorary secretary V. Sreenu said during three days of the expo, there will be discussions on various issues in the real estate sector.
