According to latest leaks, TikTok's generative AI feature will allow users to create new profile pictures based on the photographs they upload, as social media companies look to artificial intelligence to expand their markets.
Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, posted the leak on Twitter after spotting it on The Verge. To create an avatar for use on a user's profile, the AI will use up to 10 photos of the user.
The CEO of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, says a significant multi-year effort is underway to reduce costs.
The company stated that it will delete all uploaded images and AI-generated avatars from its servers after they have been created. All uploaded images will have to comply with the social media platform's community guidelines.
Based on the photos, the tool will generate up to 30 different profile images based on five different styles. The tool can only be used once a day.
Once an avatar is selected, TikTok will allow users to download all of them and share them as TikTok stories. The Chinese app TikTok is prohibited in India, and a number of countries have barred government employees from downloading the app on their phones due to data and privacy concerns.
