Nasscom announces engineering excellence awards

Hyderabad Nasscom Engineering Research and Development (ER&D),has announced the inaugural edition of its Engineering and Innovation Excellence awards in 2021 to recognize and felicitate the Indian engineering R&D companies.
The awards were announced on the part of Nasscom ER&D council's inaugural edition of the 'Engineering R&D Showcase' to demonstrate India's role as a global leader in Engineering, R&D and recognize the extraordinary impact delivered by the Indian ER&D ecosystem comprising of Global Capability Centers (GCCs), Engineering Services Providers (ESPs), Startups, and India-based Manufacturing Companies, globally.
The virtual event, "Engineering the Future: Advantage India," focused on the three key themes – 'Powering Innovation,'; 'High-Impact Service delivery'; and 'Think-force of the future' and served as a platform to celebrate significant contributions of India's ER&D community.
The event served as a confluence of leaders and experts from Engineering, R&D ecosystem who came together to present high impact stories of innovation, service delivery excellence, and unique talent capabilities from India; discussed the challenges and best practices to leverage India's full potential in Engineering, R&D.
"The ER&D Showcase 2021 serves as a testament to India's strengths and excellence in engineering and innovation. The initiative, impact, and pivotal contributions of these players truly help evangelize India as the destination of choice for ER&D," said Debjani Ghosh, President, Nasscom.
India's share in the global ER&D market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12-13 per cent to reach $63 billion by 2025 from $31 billion in 2019. This growth is being driven by global enterprises who are tapping into Indian ER&D's ability to power innovation, drive high impact service delivery by leveraging think force of the future, Ghosh added.
The award winners in Next-Gen Product of the Year 2021 from GCCs category are Bosch, Cisco, Harman, Infineon, McAfee, Collins Aerospace andPhilips; in ESPs category are Dell Technologies, Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Elxsie, Infochips. Minion Labs, Wolkus and Helios won in startup category.
The companies that have won awards in Engineered-in-India Product of the Year 2021 from GCCs category areCisco, Philips, Bosch, Infineon, Western Digital, JCB and Kongsberg; ESPs category are Tata Technologies, Cyient, Tata Elxsi, Infosys, L&T Technology Servicesand eInfochips; Manufacturing companies arePhoenix Medical System, Visteon,ElectraEV.
The Service Delivery Excellence of the Year 2021 winners from GCCs category arePhilips, Harman, Collins Aerospace, Hughes Systique; ESPs category areTech Mahindra, Wipro, KPIT, Infosys, Capgemini, Cyient,HCL.
The organisations that won the awards in ER&D Organization of the Year 202 from GCCs category are Samsung R&D Institute India, Intel Technology India, Mercedes Benz R&D India, Philips; ESPs category fromInfosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies
The winners in Social Impact Solution of the Year 2021 are Samsung, Harman, Veoneer in GCCs category; Cyient, Tata Elxsi, TCS, Capgemini from ESPs category.
The awards were also presented to Woman Role-Model in ER&D 2021 from GCCs category are Dr Pallavi Vajinepalli, Rupa Kamoji, Kala Sampathkumarand Dr Deepika Sachdeva; and from ESPs category are Sindhu Ramachandran S, SaraswatiThippaiah and Ashwani Nandini
