Bengaluru, 14 August In the latest event of cyberattack, global IT services firm Accenture was subject to a ransomware attack this week.
The company, however, said in a statement that all its systems have been fully restored. "We fully restored our affected systems from backup, and there was no impact on Accenture's operations, or on our clients' systems," the company said in statement.
The news of such attack was first come to the fore when a reporter working in a private news channel tweeted about a hacker group posing such threat.
It was not immediately clear what was the medium-term impact of such cyberattack though Accenture has said that no data breach happened due to the threat.
Post the pandemic last year, many companies have faced such attacks as work from home becomes the prevalent operating model. As employees work remotely, cyber attacks have been more frequent, targeting the devices of workers.
Earlier, another IT services major Cognizant came under a similar attack in which it had to suffer around $70 million of loss.
In the last one year, companies like Zoom, Twitter, Marriott International, BigBasket, Virgin Media and many more have experienced data breach due to cyberattacks.
On the back of such cybersecurity threats, organisations across the world are spending more on securing their systems from such attempts.
According to global consultancy firm Gartner, worldwide spending on information security and risk management technology and services is expected to grow 12.4 per cent to reach $150.4 billion in 2021.
