Hyd pulmonologist among Asia's top 50 academecians
Dr Pradyut Waghray, a leading pulmonologist from Hyderabad, has been nominated into Asia’s Top 50 academecians, by the EET CRS, India’s largest research and branding company, through its strong research wing which identifies and recognises the Best Talent in the country in various fields.

Hyderabad: Dr Pradyut Waghray, a leading pulmonologist from Hyderabad, has been nominated into Asia's Top 50 academecians, by the EET CRS, India's largest research and branding company, through its strong research wing which identifies and recognises the Best Talent in the country in various fields.
The criteria for eligibility include the number of papers published in indexed journals as a first author, international and national presentations in the academic field concerned, teaching experience, and other recognised academic achievements.
Dr Waghray, an honorary consultant pulmonologist to the Indian armed forces, had earlier been elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London, UK, in recognition of his academic and research achievements in the field of pulmonary medicine. He is one among the very few pulmonologists from India to get this recognition. Earlier he was also conferred with Doctor of Science (DSc) by Rochville University of USA.
Dr Waghray has more than 50 publications in various indexed international and national journals.
The city-based pulmonologist has done pioneering work in unraveling the medicinal wonders of curcumin, especially in the prevention and treatment of early Covid-19 cases. Curcumin is a derivative of Turmeric - which is very commonly used in Indian diets. He is currently involved in research on Nano formulations of curcumin in nasal and oral spray for use in prevention of Covid and other viral infections.
