Hyderabad: GCCs (Global Capability Centres) and startups are soon going to be the growth engine for Information Technology (IT) exports from Hyderabad, as against previously dominated by IT Services, said Manisha Saboo, president of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA).

She was speaking at the announcement of the 31st edition of HYSEA National Summit and Awards 2024, on AI: Celebrating the Future. The summit, featuring Conference, Product Expo and Annual Industry Awards, will be held in the city on February 14, 2024, in partnership with STPI. Telangana minister for IT and Industries, D Sridhar Babu will be the Chief Guest. Around 700 delegates, including more than 100 IT Industry leaders are likely to attend. Hysea will be presenting the Lifetime Achievement award to C P Gurnani, ex-CEO and MD, Tech Mahindra.

On a query about the growth drivers for IT export in the coming years, Manisha Saboo said, “In the next two to three years, around 30 to 35 per cent growth will come from GCC’s and similar growth will be seen from startups. Earlier IT Services contributed 60 to 70 per cent growth and the rest was taken up by GCC’s, and startups. The trend is going to change, and startups and GCC’s will be the engine for growth going ahead.”

Hysea is planning to conduct a three-month Startup enablement programme in collaboration with IIIT-H, TiE and T-Hub. The programme will include Market Access, Mentoring by Tech Leaders, and Corporate collaboration through Hysea intervention (Catalyst – a corporate startup confluence).
