AP govt, EESL to make MSMEs energy efficient
Andhra Pradesh aims to boost its micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector significantly by introducing advanced energy-efficient technologies, equipping businesses with the latest innovations for growth with the support of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power.

Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh aims to boost its micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector significantly by introducing advanced energy-efficient technologies, equipping businesses with the latest innovations for growth with the support of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power.
EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor met AP Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy on Sunday to discuss over implementing energy efficiency and energy management systems to address climate change and sustain the economy.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary suggested that the EESL should explore the possibility of providing the latest energy-efficient technologies for the MSME sector. This forward-looking approach underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a climate of innovation and progress within the MSME landscape. By facilitating access to cutting-edge technologies, the government seeks to empower MSMEs to compete on the Global stage while contributing significantly to the state’s economic resurgence.
He mentioned that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy holds a strong commitment to advancing the MSMEs in the State and reinforcing their capabilities through the introduction of cutting-edge technologies. A testament to this commitment is the ‘Restart Model’ program, a flagship initiative launched by the Andhra Pradesh Government to fortify the MSMEs, according to a release. As part of this initiative, the government is giving unwavering support to MSMES, even during challenging times, such as Covid. Apart from this the Energy Department’s Special Action Plan in providing reliable and quality power supply to industries is quite successful and has helped MSMEs to improve their products, the Chief Secretary said.
