Hyderabad : The Dalit Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) will start Business facilitation Centres across India in all State headquarters, according to Ravi Kumar Narra, the newly elected National Working President for DICCI.

About the future course of action progamme and the progress made by DICCI so far, which was set up in 2015, Ravi Kumar Narra said presently DICCI has 7 Business facilitation centres and this will be scaled up to 30 by April 14, 2021 on the Birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Ravi Kumar said that DICCI has 30 chapters all over the country including Jammu and Kashmir and North East with 10,000 member-entrepreneurs. He said DICCI today has emerged as the active player in national and state level industrial policy making bodies.

With a tag line of "Be Job Givers," DICCI wants to motivate SC ST youths to enter the business and industry sector as entrepreneurs and to carve their own niche. Towards this, DICCI has entered in an MOU with IIM Shillong with a view to developing entrepreneurship skills among students. DICCI will not only train these young minds but will mentor them too, Ravi Kumar said.

He said that DICCI will conduct awareness and educational programmes for these youths on opportunities available to entrepreneurs. It will also enter an MOU with other IITs, IIMs and universities across the country for conduct of awareness programs and opportunities available for Dalit youths in the area of entrepreneurship.

Ravi Kumar said that on the occasion of April 14 which is also the Foundation day of DICCI, they would come out with a programme to develop 5,000 young entrepreneurs below the age of 35 years .These young entrepreneurs with ideas for new startups were being identified. These entrepreneurs on selection will be given Rs. 30 lakh each for their ideas and funding will be provided for their proposed entrepreneurship.

Likewise on March 8, women entrepreneurs will be identified and given opportunities. On the same day existing women entrepreneurs will be honoured. On August 9 on the occasion of International Tribals Day, DICCI plans to develop at least 5,000 entrepreneurs among the Tribals.

About problems being faced by DICCI members in getting land allotments and collaterals, he said that although the Government was quite forthcoming, they faced challenges in producing collaterals that the banks wanted. Now the DICCI shall approach the Government to ease out these issues.

In so far as land is concerned, Telangana Government has been forthcoming and had offered subsidies on land and other reservations. DICCI will request other State Governments to bring out exclusive policies for investment subsidies for Dalit members in other States. DICCI will soon have a non-banking finance Corporation to fund entrepreneurs.
