Coal PSUs surpass 95% of annual capex target
Ministry of Coal set a target of 21,030 crore for CAPEX, CIL and NLCIL have achieved 20,153 crore, marking a progress of 95.83% towards this annual goal.

New Delhi: Coal PSUs, under the Ministry of Coal, have been diligently pursuing their CAPEX targets, showcasing their commitment to India's economic advancement. In the previous fiscal years, CIL & NLCIL exceeded their goals with 104.88% & 123.33% in FY 21-22 and around 113% in FY 2022-23.
For the ongoing fiscal year of 2023-24, the Ministry of Coal set a target of 21,030 Crore for CAPEX. By January 2024, they have achieved 20,153 Crore, marking a progress of 95.83% towards this annual goal. The trajectory suggests that both are poised to surpass their targets yet again, with significant investments expected in the final months of the fiscal year.
CAPEX plays a vital role in economic dynamics, fostering consumption, demand, and industrial growth. It also contributes to employment generation and long-term infrastructure development, providing enduring benefits to the nation's economy over time.
