Beyond Banking: HDFC Bank's Parivartan Program and Social Responsibility

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative ‘Parivartan’, HDFC Bank has offered training to over 3.25 lakh youth in high-demand sectors.

According to a statement from the Indian banking and financial services company, it has offered vocational training to crores of students in various sectors like IT/ITeS, manufacturing, and healthcare over the past 10 years under its Parivartan program and its primary areas of focus are skill development and improving livelihood.

According to the bank, it is presently engaged in more than 100 skill development initiatives in various states, covering a wide range of industries such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare, IT/ITeS, and agriculture.

Since 2014, HDFC Bank’s Parivartan program has aimed to fill gaps by equipping youngsters with skills and knowledge to survive in the market. Students who finish training will get a certificate from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Sector Skill Council, and other recognized agencies.

At present, the Mumbai-headquartered bank is conducting skill development programs in various states, spanning multiple sectors, including agriculture.

Nusrat Pathan, Chief CSR Officer, HDFC Bank, said that besides offering relevant skills, the program also infuses confidence and ambition in young people.
