Singapore Airlines (SIA) issued a heartfelt apology to all passengers following the distressing events aboard flight SQ321 on May 20, 2024.
The airline expressed its unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive support and assistance to those affected during this challenging time.
Confirming proactive steps towards resolution, SIA announced that compensation offers were given to passengers on June 10, 2024. For individuals with minor injuries resulting from the incident, a compensation of US$10,000 was offered.
Meanwhile, passengers sustaining more severe injuries were extended personalised discussions for compensation tailored to their unique circumstances, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions when they are prepared to engage.
Recognizing the immediate needs of passengers with serious injuries requiring ongoing medical care, SIA offered an advance payment of US$25,000 to alleviate their immediate financial burdens, with this amount factored into their final compensation package.
Moreover, the airline pledged full refunds of airfare to all SQ321 passengers, inclusive of those unharmed by the ordeal, and committed to providing delay compensation in accordance with applicable regulations.
