Monik Sharma, an IndiGo passenger from Assam, lost his bag during a domestic flight from Kolkata to Guwahati. The bag, which contained items worth ₹45,000, went missing a month ago amid a Crowdstrike outage that affected multiple airlines.

To add to the frustration, the airline offered him only ₹2,450 in compensation. Sharma's friend brought attention to the issue on social media, emphasising the problem. The lost bag contained valuable items, including essential documents such as a driving license, PAN card, and Aadhaar card.

"It was checked in at Kolkata airport. It never reached Guwahati. How can it vanish mid-air? Was the plane leaking bags? Around a month later - Indigo has come back offering "compensation" of ₹2450. It is ridiculous. Just the bag would cost more than that. Apparently, there is a rule that the airline is liable for a maximum of ₹350 / kg in case they lose the bag. That is just adding insult to injury. If someone from the Indigo social media team is reading this - please help him out. 2450 ₹ isn't going to fix it," quoted Monik’s friend on X.

Contacting IndiGo’s social media handle, the user appealed for help on behalf of his friend, pointing out that the compensation offered was inadequate. He also posted an image of Sharma’s boarding pass. Although it’s uncertain whether the luggage has been found, the user received a follow-up call from IndiGo’s social media team, who promised to look into the issue further.
