Indian tourists planning to visit Dubai for the Dubai Shopping Festival, running from December 8 to December 14, are facing challenges due to new, stricter visa requirements introduced by the Dubai Emigration Department last month. The new rules mandate that tourists provide additional documentation when applying for a visa, including hotel booking confirmations with QR codes and a copy of their return tickets.

Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

Confirmed Return Flight Tickets: Tourists must now submit a copy of their confirmed return flight tickets to prove their intent to leave Dubai after their visit. Previously, this was only requested on a case-by-case basis by airport officers.

Accommodation Proof: Tourists are required to show evidence of where they will be staying in Dubai, such as a confirmed hotel booking or other accommodation details.

Proof of Financial Resources: Applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient funds to cover their expenses during their stay, which can include submitting bank statements or a sponsorship letter.

Application via Authorized Agents: Tourist visa applications can be submitted online or through authorized travel agencies. However, individuals, families, or trading companies can also submit the applications, as long as they meet the same documentation requirements.

These new rules aim to tighten security and ensure proper planning for visitors, but they have added an extra layer of complexity for travelers.
