Hyderabad: With this growing State development, Hyderabad International Airport is considered a major travel hub for the people travelling from Southern and Central India. As a preferred and largest transit hub, it offers convenient proximity for passengers originating from nearby cities. Airlines can connect to any part of the country in about 2 hours.

City is the gateway to one of the fastest-growing States in the region resulting in an ever-growing appetite for travel.

Internationally, airlines can connect to South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East with a flying time of about 4 hours. Since the domestic destinations can be reached within 2 hours, domestic traffic from India and transfer traffic from South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East regions can support the traffic requirement for long haul flights to the USA, Europe and Australia.

The city has the right mix of passenger traffic. Along with the MNCs and corporate, the city has strong VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives), tourists, MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) and student traffic. In the last two years, these segments have helped the airport recover faster than any other metro airport. Compared to 55 domestic destinations pre-Covid period, the city is now connected to around 70 domestic destinations.

It is a great opportunity for airlines to reap on this influx of passenger traffic from different parts of the nation that can be transferred via Hyderabad to the world.

In fact, the transfer traffic increased from 9% in 2015 to 26% in the year 2022. This reflects how the geographical location has helped Airlines to create a hub and spoke model effectively at HYD Airport. Hyderabad Airport is the only airport in the country where all domestic airlines fly

To further strengthen and facilitate the Hub and Spoke operations for airlines Hyderabad International Airport is increasing its capacity from current 12 Million Passengers/Annum to 34 Million Passengers/Annum in an Integrated Domestic and International terminal under a single roof

This Integrated Terminal at Hyderabad International Airport is a unique facility in the entire South and Central India and stands out from the other International Airports in the region which has multiple terminals. The integrated terminal will further add value to airlines in choosing Hyderabad International Airport as a preferred Hub.
