With a significant demand for aerospace professionals in South Asia, particularly in India, this initiative aims to equip young talent with the necessary skills

Boeing India in collaboration with Learning Links Foundation (LLF) felicitated the third batch of students who successfully completed their aerospace manufacturing training in Andhra Pradesh.

The fourth batch is currently undergoing training, and a total of 127 students are set to complete the program by April 2025.

Vizag MP Matukumilli Sribharat attended the felicitation ceremony at the Government Polytechnic College, Visakhapatnam, where he honoured the students. Also present at the event were Dr Ramakrishna Rao, Deputy Director (Training and Placement), Education Department; Muralikrishna Gannamani, Managing Director, FluentGrid; Pravina Yagyanbhat, Chief of Staff and CSR Leader, Boeing India; Sudha Priyadarshan, Senior Vice President, Learning Links Foundation, along with other dignitaries from Boeing India and LLF.

Addressing the gathering, Sribharat emphasized the importance of skill development for the youth, stating that Andhra Pradesh government is committed to providing world-class education and industry-aligned skill training. He said, "By partnering with leading global companies, we aim to equip our students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical exposure. This initiative will not only create employment opportunities but will also position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation in India."

The aerospace training program is designed to provide hands-on experience, industry-relevant skills, and career counselling to students from government polytechnic colleges across Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram districts. Specialized training is conducted at the MSME Technology Centre, ensuring alignment with industry needs. The program has already demonstrated success, with a remarkable 94 per cent employment rate among graduates from the first two batches.

Industry leaders including Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India & South Asia, highlighted the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the aerospace sector: "Our latest market assessment indicates that South Asia will need 37,000 pilots and an equal number of technicians over the next 20 years, with 90 per cent of this demand coming from India. To meet this growing need, it is crucial to equip young talent, especially in emerging regions like Andhra Pradesh, with the necessary skills and industry exposure."

The Directorate of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, has recognised this program’s curriculum as a model for basic proficiency training, blending technical expertise, soft skills, and real-world industry experience to enhance employability.

Nuria Ansari, President of Learning Links Foundation, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to empowering youth. Nuria said, “Launched in partnership with Boeing in 2023, this training initiative is creating a skilled workforce for the aerospace manufacturing sector. It is a matter of great pride that our youth are receiving the right opportunities to develop their talents and contribute to the nation’s progress"

With a strong focus on practical training, industry collaboration, and employability, the Boeing–LLF Skill Up program is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce of Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
