Skoda rolls out 'Slavia' sedan

Czech carmaker Skoda has unveiled its all-new sedan ‘The Skoda Slavia’ in India. The launch marks the company’s second part of India 2.0 programme which started with the mid-size SUV ‘Kushaq’.

Hyderabad: Czech carmaker Skoda has unveiled its all-new sedan 'The Skoda Slavia' in India. The launch marks the company's second part of India 2.0 programme which started with the mid-size SUV 'Kushaq'.

The new Slavia is built on MQB-A0-IN platform which is specially adapted for Indian market and possess about 95 per cent of local parts.The sedan is powered by 85 kW and 110KW TSI engine options, which is paired with multiple transmission options ranging from 6-speed torque converters to 5-speed manual box. The interior has a list of modern touches to it ranging from ventilated seats, wide infotainment system, holders, wireless charging, Skoda play apps and Skoda connect.

The sedan comes with futuristic active and passive safety features like Six airbags, ISOFIX anchors and top tether points for rear seats, ESC, multi-collision brake, Hill-hold control, rain and light sensors, and cruise control, a tyre pressure monitor etc.Thomas Schafer, CEO, Skoda Auto, said: "With the new Slavia, we are igniting the next stage of our India 2.0 product campaign. The Slavia is perfectly tailored to the needs of our customers in India and is built with up to 95 per cent localisation."
