Ola Electric, a prominent electric two-wheeler manufacturer, achieved a significant milestone in May with sales exceeding 35,000 units, marking its highest-ever monthly sales. This accomplishment has propelled Ola's market share to over 30 percent, accompanied by a remarkable year-on-year growth rate of 300 percent in May.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the Founder and CEO of Ola Electric, expressed his satisfaction with the continuous sales growth, highlighting Ola's leadership in India's electric vehicle (EV) revolution. Aggarwal attributed this success to the brand's customer trust and the escalating demand for technologically advanced electric vehicles in the country. To adapt to reduced government subsidies, Ola Electric has marginally increased its product prices effective from June.
Currently, the Ola S1 stands out as one of the most compelling options in India's two-wheeler EV segment. With the revised subsidies taking effect in June, Ola has adjusted the pricing of its models accordingly. The Ola S1 Pro is now priced at ₹1,39,999, the S1 (3KWh) at ₹1,29,999, and the S1 Air (3KWh) at ₹1,09,999. Despite the significant reduction in subsidies, Ola's emphasis on engineering and innovation has allowed the company to minimize the impact on prices, resulting in the S1 Pro being sold at its initial launch price.
In addition to their sales success, Ola is actively expanding its offline presence through the establishment of Ola Experience Centers (ECs) throughout India. These centers play a crucial role in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles across the country. Ola recently inaugurated its 600th EC and plans to further expand to 1,000 centers by August. Notably, Ola claims that 90 percent of its customers reside within a 20-kilometer radius of an Ola Experience Center.
