Toyota Kirloskar Motor has unveiled the latest Camry hybrid in India, priced at an ex-showroom rate of Rs 48 lakh. This model marks the most expensive Camry introduced in India, priced Rs 1.2 lakh higher than its predecessor. The new Camry boasts a remarkable fuel efficiency of 25.49 kmpl, a significant increase from the previous model’s 19.1 kmpl.

The car is available for booking immediately, with deliveries set to begin shortly as the vehicles are already on their way to dealerships.

This launch comes as the company introduces its fifth-generation hybrid technology amidst a growing demand for electric vehicles (EV). Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Senior VP of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, stated: “The trend is clearly towards sustainable mobility and cleaner technologies. Last year, global sales of hybrids grew by 33%, and EV sales grew by 31-32%, indicating a close competition. In India, about 95% of the market is still dependent on fossil fuels. Moving forward, we believe that various technologies, including electric and biofuel, will play a crucial role in achieving green mobility and decarbonization.”

Key Features of the New Camry Hybrid:

Engine and Performance: Powered by Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid technology, the new Camry is equipped with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and an upgraded 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine. This combination delivers 221 Nm of torque at 3200 rpm.

Transmission: The engine is paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), offering multiple driving modes — Sport, Eco, and Normal — to adapt to various driving styles and conditions.

Power Output: The hybrid system’s high-capacity Li-ion battery generates a maximum power of 169kW (230 PS).

With its advanced technology and enhanced efficiency, the new Toyota Camry hybrid sets a new standard in the segment, aligning with the global shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly automotive solutions.
