Hyundai Creta continues to maintain its dominance in the Indian automotive market, with over 18,000 units sold in March 2025 alone. As competition intensifies in the mid-size SUV segment, key rivals are preparing to launch updated variants aimed at improving market performance and increasing their share.
Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the Tata Curvv Dark Edition, a new iteration of its upcoming SUV lineup. The Curvv and Curvv.ev models will receive a complete black-themed upgrade. This includes black exterior paint, blacked-out alloy wheels, and a blacked-out front grille. The cabin also adopts a black interior scheme. Despite the aesthetic update, the engine lineup remains the same with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre TGDi, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The electric variants will continue to offer 45 kWh and 55 kWh battery packs. The Curvv Dark Edition is expected to launch by the end of April 2025.
Meanwhile, Citroen is also expanding its lineup with the introduction of Dark Editions for the Citroen Basalt and Citroen C3 Aircross. The Basalt, a coupe-style SUV, and the Aircross, a 7-seater SUV, will both receive cosmetic enhancements featuring all-black exteriors. Teasers from Citroen confirm black leather seats for both models, while it remains uncertain whether alloy wheel design will change. There will be no modifications to the mechanical setup, which will retain the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2-litre turbo petrol engines. These variants are scheduled to be introduced before the end of April 2025.
