Bajaj Auto has introduced the updated Chetak electric scooter in India, marking a significant update to its electric two-wheeler lineup. The new model, which has been revamped with improved features and design, is available in two variants: the 3502, priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom), and the 3501, priced at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

The company has also announced plans to launch a third variant, the 3503, later in the year. Since its debut in 2020, the Bajaj Chetak has received multiple updates, and the 2024 model introduces a range of enhancements aimed at improving its performance, style, and overall experience.

The design of the updated Chetak retains the charm of its predecessor, featuring a sleek, neo-classic design with a durable metallic body. Notable aesthetic updates include a round headlamp with integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a modern front apron. The scooter's front also sports integrated turn indicators and the Chetak badge prominently displayed.

Additionally, the floorboard has been lengthened, and the single-piece seat now spans 80 mm longer for added comfort. The rear design maintains the same extended tail section seen in earlier models, along with side panels bearing the Chetak logo. The boot space has also been expanded, now offering 35 liters of storage capacity.

The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is equipped with advanced technology to enhance the user experience. It comes with a 5-inch touch TFT digital instrument cluster, providing riders with essential data about the vehicle’s performance. The scooter’s digital features include integrated navigation, call management, music control, and document storage.

Furthermore, the scooter is loaded with safety and security features such as geo-fencing, theft alerts, accident detection, and overspeed warnings. The brand has also moved away from mechanical switches, replacing them with tactile switches for a more modern feel.

Under the hood, the new Chetak features a fresh platform designed to accommodate a larger battery. It is powered by a 3.5 kWh battery pack, which is paired with a 4 kW motor. This motor enables the scooter to reach a top speed of 73 km/h. Bajaj claims the scooter offers a range of over 150 km on a single charge, with a more realistic range of 125 km in real-world conditions.

Charging the Chetak is made easy with an onboard charger rated at 950 watts, which can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 3 hours.
