Hyderabad: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), a renowned car maker has achieved a significant milestone with the cumulative production of 3 million units of its popular sedan model Dzire, marking nearly 17 years since its launch. The Dzire reached 1 million units in April 2015 and 2 million by June 2019.
Introduced in 2008, the Dzire has seen three generations, with the 4th generation unveiled in November 2024. The latest model features a progressive design, plush interiors, and segment-first features.
Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEO, MSIL, said: “We are deeply grateful to our customers for their continued trust, which has been a key to achieving the milestone of 3 million production for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Over the years, Dzire has significantly contributed to our sales, making us the sedan segment leader for 16 consecutive years. A favorite domestically and internationally, MSIL has exported approximately 2.6 lakh units to 48 countries since 2008, including key regions like Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. In FY 2023-24, it became the company’s second-most exported model.
