Mumbai: Škoda Auto India is maintaining its safety focus by making six airbags standard across all variants of its Kushaq and Slavia models. This move is part of the company’s MY24 updates for its India 2.0 product lineup.
Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, emphasized the brand's commitment to safety, noting that all variants of the Kushaq and Slavia will now feature six airbags. The company aims to continuously enhance its product portfolio based on customer feedback.
The MY24 update includes the introduction of six airbags across the Kushaq and Slavia lineup. The Kushaq range spans from the Active variant to the top-tier Style, including variants like the Monte Carlo and Elegance Edition. Similarly, the Slavia lineup covers variants from the Active to the Style, with additional editions offering value to customers. Both models maintain their engine options and transmission choices.
These updates follow previous enhancements introduced in Q4 2023, such as electric seats and an illuminated footwell area. The infotainment system with Škoda Play Apps, initially available in higher variants, has now been extended to mid-level trims.
Looking ahead, Škoda Auto India plans to debut an all-new compact SUV in 2025 and reintroduce the Superb sedan to meet continued demand.
The Kushaq and Slavia models, based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, have earned 5-star ratings in Global NCAP tests for both adult and child safety. With six standard airbags, these vehicles further reinforce safety standards in the India 2.0 lineup, continuing Škoda Auto India's tradition of offering 5-star-rated cars in the Indian market.
